América Móvil’s IP VPN Services adds to the traditional interconnection between remote offices the flexibility of establishing 5 Classes of Service (CoS) and up to 30 profiles suitable for different applications. By applying quality of service policies over the contracted bandwidth, the service is configured to ensure a minimum bandwidth for each type of traffic. In case of the incident of congestion, a different packet queuing policy is defined according to the Class of Service in order to prioritize those applications sensitive to delay and packet loss. América Móvil’s IP VPN Services offer the following:
Connectivity between sites with complete private networks.
Transport of information data sensitive or non-sensitive to delay (voice, video, transactional data, critical data and non-critical data).
Prioritization by 5 different classes of services.
Traffic Management: how the packet queues behave internally according to the established priority.
Path Optimization for traffic, using routing protocols that allow routing convergence in a fast, controlled and scalable form.
Redundancy in the transport network also available on last miles if contracted by the customer.
Back-up paths: logical back-ups (layer 3 of the OSI model) and physical back-up links (layer 1 model OSI).
Load Balancing: the network routers provide load balance for multiple links and paths.
Many companies need to interconnect their headquarters with their branch offices, streamlining their operation by providing data, voice and videoconference communications in the Intranet model. It is important for companies to establish reliable and safe connectivity with suppliers, clients or any other members of their business community, offering access to contents and services for a better operation and administration of the business relationship, similar to the extranet model.
Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) allows: designation, routing, commutation and efficient transmission of traffic flows through the networks. This fast packet commutation is based on the use of labels, which are specific identifiers of fixed length for each protocol and they define the path that the packets will follow. MPLS provides versatile solutions for the speed problems (transmission capacity), scalability, management quality of service and traffic engineering that most of the information networks face today.
América Móvil’s IP VPN Services, based on MPLS technology, add value to the traditional concept of Point-to-Multipoint links since they are based on a "full mesh" network topology between its different points. This feature, added to the packet "labeling", sets their priority and therefore assigns the desired Quality of service, allowing the data to use the best path in order to arrive at their destination by optimizing the use of the network resources.
